J-S.T.E.M. Robotics Camp

J-STEM Robotics Camp integrates the sport of rope skipping (jump rope), Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) education concepts in a bio-inspiring engineering environment. Camps are typically 3-5 days in duration and include lodging options and various field trips. Students explore scientific processes, engineering design, observe and replicate movement, forces, speed, velocity and how motors and super machines work while having fun using a jump rope and innovative wellness activities. Register TODAY for Camp 2020!!

Day Camps

From 3 to 5 hours, the participants are expected to have fun, work hard, and enjoy learning about the benefits of rope skipping. Rope skippers will learn how to size their rope, practice basic jumps such as skeer, bell, and wounded duck. For the most part, many students will master intermediate tricks while having fun such as criss-cross, double-unders, and full twist. All participants will be given an opportunity to practice teamwork by engaging in Double Dutch, Chinese Wheels, and dynamic acrobatic tricks.
J-S.T.E.M. in the Gym 2022
J-S.T.E.M. Day focuses on the following:
-
J-S.T.E.M. Career Fair
-
Rope Skipping Showcase
-
Bio-Engineered Technology Showcases
-
College Career Readiness Simulations
-
J-S.T.E.M. Award Ceremony

J-ST.E.M. Robotics revolutionizes rope skipping by integrating the S.T.E.M. concept, innovative thinking with the Wellness Design Process. It showcases the way students learn science, technology, engineering, mathematics through bio-inspired engineering. Bio-inspired engineering empowers the learner to use a jump rope and the S.T.E.M. concept to promote wellness in their community, research exercise science, and pursue careers in the S.T.E.M. field. Camps are typically 3-5 days. Students have fun building and re-building, prototypes and a jump rope while being innovative thinkers. (Curriculum varies per grade level.)
J-S.T.E.M. Day is designed for students to showcase their real-world problem-solving solutions in a competitive environment. Each engineer must demonstrate their methodology to solving the unexpected problem that has occurred at a remote location in our universes such as our community, space station or planetary habitat, where a robotic solution must be quickly developed and deployed using only existing resources while focusing on eliminating the epidemic of obesity and promoting wellness. Competition on J-S.T.E.M. Day encourages students to be bio-engineers or architectural designers challenged to be creative using technology, robots, exercise science, and accessories such as a jump rope to complete various tasks on each task or project assigned. Participants are required to use the Engineering Design Process, critical thinking, innovation, problem-solving, programming, and teamwork to master each mission for this task.
